A significant proportion of CRM projects - perhaps as many as half - fail to achieve their anticipated objectives.  There are many pitfalls that can trap the unwary, and these may result in a poorly implemented system.

The specific actions required will depend on circumstances.  However problems are rarely caused by deficiencies in the software itself, and will more commonly be a result of poor project management, unreliable data, or a lack of support from the business users.  Before any relaunch of a CRM system is attempted, therefore, it is important to understand the reasons that lie behind its failure.  Only then can effective measures be taken to eliminate the causes of failure and ensure a successful relaunch.
