Phase 4 - Implement

Conduct at least one pilot - preferably two - to ensure the system meets the needs of the business and the business processes are effective.  Tasks include:

• Identify suitable pilot group (ideally approximately thirty users);
• Train group and convert data so they are fully operational;
• Conduct pilot over a period of several weeks, holding weekly meetings to monitor progress and correct any problems;
• Summarise conclusions and modify approach as necessary;
• Train all Marketing and Business Development staff;
• Implement system in phases throughout the firm.

Hint.  The pilot is also a useful trial of the implementation approach, so be prepared to modify this and extend deadlines as necessary in the light of experience.
